Developed as a successor to the KV series tanks, the IS series tanks were designed to combat the ever powerful and heavily armored German artillery and tanks. Not only highly armored these tanks has plenty of firepower to spare. The IS acronym is the anglicized initialism of Joseph Stalin, hence the IS-2/JS-2 references.
The new JS-2 from Taigen offers some of the best features offered from Taigen and includes things such as a solid metal lower chassis, steel 4:1 gearboxes, V3 electronics system with JS-2 sound card, tons of metal, and an all new clam shell opening system first developed by Daryl Turner on RCUniverse. The battery and internals are now accessed by flipping a switch at the bottom of the tank and propping up the whole upper hull. You can easily change out a battery or do minor maintenance much quicker and easier this way. Switches have been placed under the rear hatch on the upper hull as well, no longer on the bottom of the tank.
This tank comes painted in a weathered Soviet green color (the unpainted pictures are for reference only, please check our kit section if you want an unpainted kit), has our V3 electronics installed with JS-2 sound card, proportional smoke unit, track recoil when firing with the ability to disable via a switch on the motherboard, 4:1 steel gearboxes, 360 degree rotation kit, available in airsoft or infrared models, a solid metal lower chassis, metal suspension arms, metal road wheels with bearings, metal idler wheels with bearings, metal return rollers, metal drive wheels, metal caterpillar tracks, dual LED machine guns, metal turret, metal barrel, and lots of other various accessories. This tank does come with our 2000mAh battery and is also compatible with our 3000mAh and 5000mAh batteries as well.
Since this model uses our V3 electronics you can also use your own 6 channel PWM capable hobby grade transmitter and receiver with this tank. Just follow the instructions in the manual on how to setup! Most brands are compatible, (Spektrum make sure you use a 5V receiver!). TBS Crossfire, FRSky, FlySky, Futaba, JR, etc have all be reported working perfect with minimal to no setup.
